Disaster Recovery - Restoring an Entire Server

In the event of a catastrophic failure of the server, timely recovery of all data and configuration and necessary state information from the latest backup is critical.

Recovery of the PostPath Server™ involves using the restore command to write back the entire contents of the message store including all the folders, subfolders, and messages from the last complete backup to the replacement server.

For a complete restore, the whole store's directory tree, including the configuration folders with names 1ffffffffffff*, are restored.

Since the configurations are system data are themselves simply kept in files within the stores folder tree, restore of the server's system data happens automatically as part of the file data restore.
